Learn software engineering by building it, not scrolling it.
NebuCoders is an open-source community where developers of any experience level learn by shipping real projects together — in public, on GitHub, with people around them.
No application. No cost. Just show up and start building.
MuseBot AI took 2nd place nationwide at WRO Bangladesh Nationals — next stop, a shot at Puerto Rico.
Learn. Build. Contribute. Teach. Lead.
The loop every member moves through — as many times as they want.
-
Learn
Pick up what you need for the thing you’re about to build — not a syllabus, just enough to start.
-
Build
Write real code toward a real project. Tutorials teach syntax; building teaches engineering.
-
Contribute
Open a pull request. Review someone else’s. Every contribution is public, in the open, on GitHub.
-
Teach
Explain what you learned to the next person. Teaching is how you find out if you actually understood it.
-
Lead
Take ownership of a project or a newcomer’s onboarding. Leadership here is earned through contribution, not appointed.
One organization, three doors
Learn
A philosophy of learning by shipping: pick a direction — web, AI, systems, security, robotics — and build your way into it.
ExploreBuild
Every project is public from day one. Real repos, real issues, open to anyone who wants to pick up a task.
ExploreCommunity
A Discord full of people building alongside you — mentorship, pair programming, and people to get unstuck with.
ExploreEarly, honest, and growing
We're not going to pretend to be bigger than we are. Here's where things actually stand.
Questions people ask first
What is NebuCoders?
NebuCoders is a free, open-source community for developers who want to get better at software engineering by building real projects together — not just watching tutorials.
How do I join NebuCoders?
Join the community Discord server. There is no application and no cost — introduce yourself, see what’s being built, and pick up your first issue on GitHub.
Is NebuCoders free?
Yes. NebuCoders is free and community-run. There are no paid tiers, courses, or memberships.
Do I need experience to join?
No. NebuCoders is for beginners through advanced developers. The only requirement is a willingness to build in the open and learn from feedback.
Is this "vibe coding" — do you use AI to build things?
Yes, and we think that's the direction software is heading. AI-assisted building is the default way to move fast here — but every AI-generated change still needs to be read, understood, and reviewed by a human before it ships. Building fast with AI and understanding what you shipped aren't in conflict; we just don't skip the second part.
Build. Ship. Belong.
NebuCoders is a nonprofit, member-run community — no pricing tiers, no product to sell. Just a place to actually get better at building software.
